A number of players who purchased the God of War Ragnarök Collector’s Edition have reported that the product shipped without the game itself.

Like several other God of War Ragnarök editions, the Collector’s one is supposed to come with a printed voucher code for the game on both PS4 and PS5.

However, as spotted by Push Square, at least a handful of players who purchased the $200 / £180 Collector’s Edition have claimed that the code wasn’t included when they opened the product.

In addition to missing the game itself, some Collector’s Editions are reportedly shipping without the steelbook case they’re meant to come with.

“My Collector’s Edition shipped from Target with two of the same DLC code, and no game code,” one Twitter user wrote.

“I got u beat bro,” said another. “My steel case wasn’t even included.”

Sone users have reportedly been offered a refund from the retailer who sold them the game, but given the limited availability of the product they’re reluctant to give up the other collector’s items, which include a detailed replica of Thor’s hammer from God of War Ragnarök.

In October a number of players complained about receiving damaged copies of another high-profile Sony release. Some customers who managed to purchase the sought after The Last of Us Part 1’s Firefly Edition said it had arrived in a poor condition due to a lack of protective packaging.

VGC’s God of War Ragnarök review labelled it one of the best PlayStation games ever.

At the time of publishing, it has a score of 94 on review aggregation site Metacritic, making it the second highest-rated new title of the year.
