From November 16, 2022, the original iteration of Warzone will go offline for twelve days before being relaunched as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera by November 28. In a detailed blog post from the Call of Duty developers, they confirmed that from 8AM PT on November 16, the servers for the original Warzone battle Royale would go offline temporarily while Season 5 of Call of Duty: Vanguard wraps up.
Two hours later, at 10AM PT, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be launched as part of Season One for Modern Warfare II. Led by Raven Software, the focus will be on “ensuring the new Warzone 2.0 free-to-play ecosystem is running effectively.”
The developers add that once the second iteration of Warzone is “fully stable” and following a small Thanksgiving break, Warzone Caldera will launch a “separate experience” that kicks off at 10AM PT on November 28. The studio is further gifting the Call of Duty community a “few items to use” in the new Warzone update.
Warzone Caldera will not include a new Battle Pass, Store Bundles, Rebirth Island, or Fortune’s Keep maps. Double XP and Double Weapon XP Tokens are also not transferable between Caldera and 2.0.
Also, while Caldera will not come with an in-game store, COD points will be transferable across all titles. Players will have access to a standard Battle Royale playlist, while content and progression from Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard will remain available.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II launched on Oct. 28 across all major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.
