Last week, the Call of Duty community made their goodbyes to the original Warzone with memes and posts of gameplay. However, the new player stats for Warzone 2.0 tell another story. Many have swiftly moved forward and dropped into the Al-Mazrah map for something new.
Since it launched on November 16, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has amassed more than 25 million players in less than one week (five days after its announcement). The news was released on the Call of Duty Twitter channel, thanking the community for jumping on board with the new iteration of the battle-royale, as seen further below. In comparison to the original Warzone, which was released in March 2020, Warzone had attracted a smaller but no less impressive 15 million players across all platforms.
If we break this down a bit more, that’s five million new players a day, a figure that Warzone 2.0 has matched after five days. The original Warzone, which was decommissioned for twelve days on November 16, reached a total of 50 million players, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the new iteration of the battle royale could match and even best its predecessor.

As recently reported by GameLuster, a developer with Infinity Ward confirmed that work on Warzone 2.0 started right after the launch of its predecessor in 2020.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II launched on Oct. 28 across all major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.
