Every Thursday we cover the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week we have the Oct. 31 – Nov. 06 chart, and Harvestella has a solid debut at #2. The fantasy RPG/farming sim fusion developed by Live Wire sold 26,600 units in its first weekend of sales, earning the runner-up spot behind Splatoon 3.
The undefeated Splatoon 3 is spending its ninth week at #1 with a whopping 51,700 units sold – that’s actually higher than last week, albeit only by 200 extra sales. Whilst there’s no sign of Splatoon 3‘s success slowing down any time soon, it will be facing God of War Ragnarök in next week’s charts, which is sure to be a strong contender. Whilst the PS4’s God of War from 2018 debuted big on the Famitsu sales chart with 50,000 units sold, this time God of War Ragnarök‘s sales will be split between PS4 and PS5.
The only other new release on the Famitsu sales chart this week is Doraemon: Story of Seasons – Friends of the Great Kingdom. Everyone’s favorite blue Japanese robot cat debuted at #3, selling 11,300 copies on Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, Bayonetta 3 dropped two places from #2 to #4 with 10,100 sales in its second week. The record-breaking success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II doesn’t seem to be as big in Japan, with the game dropping from #4 to #9 in just one week, shifting an additional 7,400 units.
